Whistler Trip Report - Aug 6th & 7th, ...and then 8th, 2011

Whistler is expensive.  We (my son and I) stayed for one night last summer and the tab was $750 for one day all in!!!!!  That didn't even include a dinner at Araxi or something like it but I did buy him a Ziptrek tour.  My son really liked Whistler. He's 21 right now.  I saw a Travelzoo local deal that was $250 for a two night stay at the Pan Pacific Mountainside, including two Peak 2 Peak gondola passes and one day bike rentals for a studio suite with fireplace and full kitchen.  I asked my son if he was interested in going and he said he was, so I bought it.  Parking was another $25 per day so add another $50. We're up to $300 now and I haven't left the gate...  :-)

Portland Trip Report - July 9 - 12, 2011

Mini getaway with a friend from work.  We happened to be sitting after work one day, sipping wine at the closest bar and I was talking about how much I'd like to go to Portland to EAT.  She was saying how she'd like to return to the Oregon coast as it was so beautiful.  That was where she spent her honeymoon too (divorced now).  So, another glass of wine later we picked our dates and that was that!  Done deal.

Las Vegas Trip Report - May 1 - 5, 2011

Ah, Vegas...baby!  My last trip was in 2000 so it's been quite some time...I have to be honest...I was so excited for this trip back!  I couldn't wait to go.  I read Trip Advisor daily and planned everything to the max!

Honolulu Trip Report - Feb. 3 - 10, 2011

This was our third visit to Honolulu.  It is my son's (he's 20) fave place to vacation.  We went for two weeks in 2005, one month in 2007 and now had a quick winter week long getaway almost 4 years later.  I got a great deal out of Bellingham, WA with a promo Alaska Airlines had on for their new service to HNL.  We stayed at the same place we did on our first visit, the Ohana Waikiki West.  When we stayed for a month we rented a condo @ the Hawaiian King.  We like this neighbourhood and it works well for us!

New Orleans Trip Report - Nov. 14 - 21, 2010

I first went to New Orleans when I was 23. My friends were stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana and were officers in the army. I flew down to visit staying with them in Leesville. My time in LA was ten days but my time in the French Quarter was short. Only one day/night, but I have always remembered it, and have always wanted to return.  I bought a "Spuds MacKenzie" T-shirt that day in the FQ, for those of you that remember who Spuds was...I remember this because I still have the picture of me wearing it in NOLA.  I also have pictures of my friend and I dancing on a stage with male strippers.  One was wearing knee pads and a thong, which still makes me giggle...
